Private Leonard Baker was a [War II veteran] who was killed in action during the war.  He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Baker.


Essex County Republican, April 13, 1945

Pvt. Leonard Baker of Saranac Lake, father of three children, was killed in action March 16, while on active duty in Germany. Word was received by his wife, who now resides in Massena. Pvt. Baker joined the armed forces July 17, 1944 and left for overseas duty Feb. 1, 1945. He is survived by his wife; his mother Mrs Willard Baker of Plattsburg; three children, Donald, Richard and Patricia; and two brothers.
