O'Connell passes away
SARANAC LAKE—Hubert O'Connell, chairman of the board of the Saranac Lake Federal Savings and Loan Association and president of the board of directors of Saranac Lake General Hospital, died Sunday evening at his home, 25 Maryland Ave.
Mr. O'Connell had been a director of the Savings and Loan since 1936 and chairman of the board for over 20 years.
He was president of the hospital board and chairman of the building committee when the present hospital was built. John Murphy, hospital administrator, said this morning that Mr. O'Connell joined the hospital board in 1964 and had acted as the cement that put the plans for building the hospital together.
He had been associated with J. J. O'Connell, a building firm established by his father, until he dissolved the business a few years ago and retired.
The Keough Memorial Chapels have charge of funeral arrangements which are incomplete
