Percy Betters Dies Sunday
An afternoon of fishing ended tragically when Percy Betters of Breezy Acres died suddenly of a heart attack yesterday on the way home from his camp at MacKenzie Pond.
Mr. Betters and Linzy Putnam of 4 1/2 Edward Street, were on the trail out of the camp when he complained of a pain in his chest and asked Mr. Putnam to take his car keys and go to town to get a doctor. Dr. Anthony B. Gedroiz and Mr. Putnam returned to the trail but found Mr. Betters had already died.
A life-long resident of Saranac Lake, Mr. Betters had been associated with the Saranac Lake Hardware.
Keough and Son Funeral Home has charge of arrangements, which are incomplete pending the arrival of Mr. Betters’ daughter from Massachusetts.
