SARANAC LAKE - John D. “Jack” McMaster, 90, of 198 McMaster Road, Lake Clear, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at his home where he was born.

Born in [Clear] on Oct. 10, 1913, he was the son of Joseph and Cora (Rawlins) McMaster.

A life-long resident of the area, Jack attended and graduated from [Lake Central schools]. He then went on to Canton ATC and graduated in 1934. His parents owned and operated the McMaster Dairy Farm, which Jack continued to operate until he retired in 1980. He was a lifetime member of the [and Harrietstown Grange] and enjoyed hunting in his younger days.

Jack is survived by his sister, Esther McDonald of Saranac Lake; two nephews: Richard McDonald and his wife Donna of Saranac Lake and John McDonald and his wife Wanda of Fort Collins, Colo, and their children: Jeffrey McDonald of Fort Benning, Ga. and Ashley McDonald of Fort Collins, Colo.; five cousins: Eleanor Leavitt of Saranac Lake, Anna Dickson, Dorothy Warden, Marion Mower and Patricia McCreery, all of Ontario, Canada.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother-in-law, Thomas McDonald.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 13 at the [Funeral Home] in Saranac Lake. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. [Mclntyre], pastor of the [United Methodist Church], officiating. Burial will be held in May at the [Cemetery] in Saranac Lake.

Friends wishing to remember Jack may make memorial contributions to the [Lake Volunteer Fire Department] [Squad] or the First United Methodist Church in care of the funeral, home.
