'[Calvin Blauvelt] was a carpenter who built the houses at 16 Helen Street and 18 Helen Street, according to 'Cure Cottages of Saranac Lake by Philip L. Gallos (page 54). He served as a Saranac Lake Village Trustee in 1904 and 1905.  Blauvelt lived at 48 Shepard Avenue with his wife, Gertrude, and son Raymond, who worked in the architectural firm of Scopes and Feustmann
