Franklin Falls road starts as River Road just east of the center of Bloomingdale; it becomes Franklin Falls Road halfway along Franklin Falls Pond and continuing a mile past Franklin Falls to become Plank Road.

Adirondack Daily Enterprise, April 25, 1952

The Franklin Falls road will be a 16-foot wide highway with a 12-inch gravel base covered by tar. Road improvements will also include a surface coat on a stretch from the home of Mrs. Laura Derby to the corner near Arthur Fletcher's farm.
