Martha Durgan Freeman was proprietor of the Indian Carry Camps and cottages at Coreys for many years.

Martha D. Freeman

FAYETTEVILLE - Martha D. Freeman, 89, of Syracuse, died Thursday Dec. 9, 1999 at Crouse Hospital.

Mrs. Freeman was a native of Saranac Lake and resided in Coreys until 1980 when she moved to Syracuse.

She was an avid fan of the outdoors, and a prize-winning angler who held a life membership in Nomis Hunting and Fishing Club. Along with her husband Ross, she was proprietor of the Indian Carry Camps and cottages at Coreys for many years.

Survivors include a daughter, Jean, of Coreys; two sons, Claude Freeman and Harry Freeman-Jones, both of Syracuse; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1980.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Coreys Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are by the Eaton-Tubbs-Schepp Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
