John J. Watson was president and chairman of Watson Inc. and founder of Polymer Films.  He served as past president and chair of The American Association of Cereal Chemists, and as past president and chair of The American Association of Cereal Chemists.

He and his wife, Mary, saved Blythemere and 23.5 acres from development by Emerson Wertz.  He loved sailing and his antique wooden motorboats, Thunder and Many Moons, and he enjoyed winning the Upper Saranac Lake Sailing Regatta on summer weekends. He had a lifetime love of skating and skiing and was an accomplished singer and musician.
