Matthew Fox is buried in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. His grave has a marker, GAR 1861-1865, indicating he was a Civil War veteran in the Grand Army of the Republic, and the cemetery records indicate that he served in Company D, 142 N.Y. Volunteers. He was a son of Patrick and [Farley Fox], and a brother of Thomas and Nicholas Fox, who had almost identical service and is buried in the same cemetery.
