Moir Road runs west one third of a mile from the Harrietstown Road along the southeast shore of Lake Colby. It was built to access the Moir Camp, for which it is named. According to Howard Riley, it was once called Fisher Road.

A speakeasy called Colby Lake Lodge was established at 20 Moir Road by Jack Phillips Sr. in 1924.
