Gertrude Smithwick was the daughter of Michael J. and Josephine Smithwick. She lived at 60 Park Avenue, and graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1930. She apparently left Saranac Lake after her mother's death in 1948.

Miss Gertrude Smithwick, of Fort Lee, N. J., is now at her camp at Crescent Bay, Lower Saranac Lake.
