Harold J. Morford, Sr., was a World War II veteran who served in the United States Navy. He was the son of John and Lena (Collins) Morford
He graduated from the [School at Wannakena] in 1948, and worked for the state Department of Environmental Conservation and the U.S. Department of Agriculture from 1948 to 1953. He was later employed as a corrections officer at Dannemora Correctional Facility, retiring after 22 years of service in 1979.
