Children: Albert A. Chase b. ~ 1868, Mary A. Chase (known as Minnie) b. ~1870, Leland Chase b. ~ 1873, and Lulu H. Chase b. ~ 1883

Luther B. Chase was a Civil War veteran; he achieved the rank of Second Corporal serving with the Company C, 118th Regiment. He is buried in Union Cemetery, Vermontville.

L. B. Chase, a well-known Civil War Veteran, died at his home in Vermontville Sunday, after an illness of three weeks, of pneumonia. He was buried Tuesday. His age was 76 years.

CHASE, LUTHER B.—Age, 19 years. Enlisted, August 11, 1862, at St. Armand, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. C, August 29, 1862; promoted corporal. May 4, 1864: mustered out with company, June 13. 1865, at Richmond. Va.
