Mary Gowett lived at 17 Charles Street. She is buried in Pine Ridge Cemetery.

Mrs. Martha Wade, of Lewis, visited Saranac Lake today to join in a joint birthday celebration with her sister, Mrs. Mary Gowett, of 17 Charles st. The sisters are 81 years old today.

Mrs. Gowett, the former Mary McDouglas, of Lewis, was married to the late Peter Gowett at the age of 23 years, and has lived in this village many years.

The couple had three children, Mrs. Howard Parshall, of Cooperstown and Lawrence Gowett, of Saranac Lake, who is employed at the Co.

Another son, John, died in 1947. There are 14 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

There will be a family dinner to celebrate the occasion.
