The McGuire Cottage appears to have been an apartment house or cure cottage.   According to village directories, there was room for four families that lived there from 1925 to 1969.

World War I veteran Charles L. Wright was a resident at the time of his death in 1948. It was the home of Dr. Edward Welles and family from 1959 to 1962.
