Susanne B. Wright, 81, of Saranac Lake, died Saturday March 4 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in Saranac Lake on June 19, 1941, she was the daughter of Richard and Margaret (Ayotte) Burman. Susanne married Richard J. "Dick" Wright on November 7, 1959, at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake. Susanne was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake and had been employed as a secretary at the New York State Health Department for over 20 years until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of the Saranac Lake Elks Lodge BPOE 1508 for over 20 years. Susanne was recently honored by the Elks Lodge, which awarded her an honorary life membership. She was also a past member of the Saranac Lake Women's Civic Chamber.

Susanne loved to spend time with her family, and she especially loved to travel with her husband, Dick. They traveled extensively together in their camper across the United States, visiting 47 states. Later in life they spent their winters together in Texas up until 2020.

She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Richard; three sons: Robert (Michelle) Wright of Rainbow Lake, Allan (Tammy) Wright of Saranac Lake, and Steven (Kathleen) Wright of Waterloo; three brothers: Gordon (Louise) Burman of Florida, Ross (Barbara) Burman of East Syracuse, and Tom (Diane) Burman of Bloomingdale; one sister, Alice (Michael) Celello of Saranac Lake; eight grandchildren: Kenneth (Chelsi) Wright, Nicole (Barry) Sears, Thomas (Sara-Beth Demers) Wright, David (Laura) Wright, Andrew (Kelly) Wright, and Cody, Lucas, and Lucy Wright; seven great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Lillian Burman of Saranac Lake and Donna Burman of Vermontville. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Victor Burman.
