Janet Louise Henderson was the owner and summer occupant of the Henderson Cottage for many years following the death of her brother, Charles R. Henderson. She left the house to her niece, Cornelia Robb Goebel, who subsequently sold it.

She is buried at St. John's in the Wilderness Cemetery, on New York Route 86 near Paul Smith's.
