Charles T. Barney, former president of the Knickerbocker Trust Co., who committed suicide was a member of the millionaire's colony of the Paul Smith's section of the Adirondacks and spent much time and money in the woods. Mr. Barney's own fortune, while considerably reduced, was by no means dissipated. His grief seems to have been caused by his loss of business standing and the pecuniary losses of his friends.
