Harland Kent
Harland E. Kent, 53, of Churchville, a former resident of Saranac Lake, died Wednesday morning in a Rome, N. Y. hospital where he had been a patient for two days.
Mr. Kent was born in Vermontville on , a son of Harland and Ranie Munsial Kent. He was married on Oct. 8, 1935 to Vera Cook who survives. He is a veteran of World War II with two years of overseas service with an Army medical detachment. In 1946 Mr. And Mrs. Kent moved to the Rome area where he was employed by Rome Cable Co. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and of the Greenway Fish and Game Association.
Survivors besides Mrs. Kent are a daughter, Jean M.; a son, David; a brother, Henry, of Saranac Lake; two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Sawyer of Saranac Lake and Mrs. Carrie Gadwaw of Lake Placid; and one grandson.
Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home beginning Saturday. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 2 p. m. Monday with the Rev. Daniel Partridge, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Burial win be in Pine Ridge Cemetery in May.
