Garfield Weld owned the Weld Camp on Lake Clear with his brother Charles.  He taught at the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut and at Middlebury College in Vermont, where he taught algebra, plane geometry, physics and surveying, according to the 1905-06 Middlebury catalog.  He died in 1933.
