William W. McAlpin owned Camp Wyndover on Spitfire Lake. He was a son of industrialist and real estate magnate [Hunter McAlpin]. At his death, he left an estate valued at approximately one million dollars.

- Over on the St. Regis chain of Lakes William W. McAlpin of Morristown. N. J., who owns the Trudeau Camp, on Spitfire Lake has a number of carpenters putting up new buildings, altering and making additions to old ones, while other workmen are grading, pruning trees, ornamenting the grove with seats, etc.
