Edmund Vancour of Lake Colby was a private in Company M of the 311th Infantry, U.S. Army, a World War I Veteran. He died of broncho pneumonia. His name is inscribed on the "Roll of Honor of Citizens of the State of New York who died while in the service of the United States during the World War, Albany (1922)."
