Ira R. Ames was a World War II Veteran.  He was a son of Daniel and Lucy Wood Ames.

Ira R. Ames

LAKE PLACID - Ira R. Ames, 71. of Cascade Road, a resident of Lake Placid since [illegible date] died Monday morning at the De Goesbriand unit of the Vermont Medical Center.

Mr. Ames was a retired automobile mechanic and was a veteran of the World War II Army. He was born in Saranac Lake, a son of Daniel and Lucy Wood Ames.

Survivors are a niece, Mrs. Walter (Mary) Gordon of Glen Rock, N.J. and several cousins.

The Clark Funeral Home has charge of arrangements for the funeral.  There will be no scheduled calling hours. A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. William Vigne, pastor of the Adirondack Community Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
