Francis E. Shene was a [War II veteran].   He was a son of Alton H. and Sophia A. Baker Shene.

Francis E. Shene

VERMONTVILLE — Francis E. Shene, 66, died Tuesday morning at the Highland Nursing Home in Massena. Mr. Shene, 66, had been highway superintendent of the Town of Franklin and had retired because of poor health.

He was born in the Town of Harrietstown, a son of Alton H. and Sophia A. Baker Shene. He served in the Army in World War II.

Survivors are: his wife, Inez Coleman Shene; his mother; a brother, Herbert; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Bova. Mrs. Marion Symon, and Miss Flora Shene; all of Vermontville, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday at the Church of the Nazarene with the pastor, the Rev. Dale Stouler, officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
