Earle Towne was a [War II veteran].  He was a son of Ralph and Myrtle Flanders Towne.

Ralph Earl Towne

SARANAC LAKE - Dr. Ralph Earl Towne, 64, died yesterday afternoon at the Albany VA Hospital.

He was born in Bloomingdale, the son of Ralph and Myrtle Flanders Towne and was married to the former Betty Rieck, Dec. 29, 1934, in Bloomingdale. They made their home in Bennington, Vermont.

He was the past president of the Bennington Club. Dr. Towne had attended schools in Bloomingdale and the Dental Mechanics School, Boston, Mass. He was owner and operator of the Towne Dental Lab, in Bennington from 1937-1976, when he retired.

Dr. Towne was also a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy.

Survivors include his wife and a brother, Arthur, in Massachusetts.

Remains repose at the Edward P. Mahr Funeral Home in Bennington where friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. tomorrow. On Sunday Dr. Towne will repose at the Fortune Funeral Home, Saranac Lake, where friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Monday, from the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Vermontville.
