Elizabeth Jessie Dawe came from Newfoundland to cure in August of 1944. She was just 17 years old. She first stayed at 84 Park Avenue, and then moved to 45 Riverside Drive. She was treated by Dr. Kinghorn. She returned to Saranac Lake to visit with her daughter Libby decades later.
Information provided by her daughter, Libby, and records from the Historic Saranac Lake collection and the Saranac Lake Free Library. Note: her records list her name as "Dawes" with an 's' but this is incorrect.
