Other information: Thelma Gladd Niederbuhl writes "This home was owned by the Lee & Minn Gladd family, owners of Gladd's Delicatessan, prior to 1960. After that, Gene and Joan Gladd purchased the home and lived there with their seven children; Thelma, Joseph, Natalie, Patrick, Jack, Timothy, and Jamie until sold to the Ratigan family in the 1990s. The years the Gladd children lived there French Hill was the hub of dodge ball, kick ball, tag, hide n' seek, baseball & football games. Many of those games occurred in Tom Swain's yard including neighborhood children such as, Rushlaw, Dewey, Farmer, Healey, Swain, Duso, Downs, Lewis, Law, Hooley kids and more."
