The house was owned by the Seeley family from 1890 to 1978, Mrs. Margaret Seeley operating it as a registered private sanitarium for a number of years.
According to the 1916 TB Directory, the Seeley Cottage had room for 11 patients, had four cure porches and charged $10-15 per week.
