John (Jack) Valdez was a real estate and insurance agent, associated with the Thomas P. Ward insurance agency for 27 years. 

He graduated from New York University and came to Saranac Lake for his health in 1933

He is buried in St. Bernard's Cemetery.

A brick at the Saranac Laboratory has been dedicated in the name of Jack and Jeanette Valdez by Judy Landes.
