Terminal Pharmacy

The  Terminal Pharmacy was at 3 Bloomingdale Avenue.  Originally, it had a soda counter that was taken out.  It also had a dumb waiter, so that merchandise could be stored in the basement and then brought up to the store as needed. 

The reason this Pharmacy was called Terminal Pharmacy was because it was next to the [St. Regis]. This is where the Trailways Bus would do one of it two stops in town.  Passengers could wait inside the Hotel.  It was a terminal for the bus and passengers thus the name to the Pharmacy explained where it was located.

[Hoffman] bought it from [Norton]; it had been the [Reiss Pharmacy] for many years. He kept its name, Terminal Pharmacy, only adding his name to the top. It was later known as the Hoffman Pharmacy.

Once Mr. Hoffman move to the new location on the Church Street Extension, he turned the store into the Charlestan Record Shop, naming it after his three children: Charles, Leslie, Stanley.
