Agnes C. Cassavaugh

SARANAC LAKE - Agnes Catherine Cassavaugh, 88, of Bloomingdale died Friday, Oct. 11, 1996, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

She was born in Ogdensburg, Oct. 28, 1907, the daughter of George J. and Luella M. (Griffith) Pearson.

She was married to W. Percy Cassavaugh, Dec. 31, 1931. He died July 23, 1956.

Mrs,. Cassavaugh was a member of St. Paul's Church in Bloomingdale. She was a charter member of Court Rosary of Fatima 1525, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, a member of the Bloomingdale Over 55 Senior Citizens Club and the Franklin 55-Plus Senior Citizens Club of Vermontville. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, knitting and crocheting.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, John and Jessie Cassavaugh of Lenoir, N.C., and Peter and Sandra Cassavaugh and Thomas and Mary Lou Cassavaugh, all of Bloomingdale; three daughters and their husbands, Luella and Robert Willis of Lockport, Catherine and Clarence Rascoe of Saranac and Patricia and Joel M. Lisak of New City; a brother* Thomas A, Pearson of North Plainfield, N.J.; two sisters, Leola Campbell of Akron and Lillian Cassavaugh of Saranac Lake; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

A son, James Cassavaugh, died Oct. 10, 1974; a daughter, June Boomhower, died June 7, 1992; three brothers, Joseph, James and Patrick Pearson; and two sisters, Hazel Benedict and Zella Pearson, all died earlier.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Bible vigil will be held at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church in Bloomingdale, with the Rev. Joseph Trombley, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Bloomingdale Over 55 Club, or the Franklin 55-Plus Club of Vermontville in care of the Funeral Home.
