William H. Meagher was a guide, and a co-owner with his brother, John E. Meagher of the Del Monte hotel.

Plattsburgh Daily Press, September 3, 1906

A party of tourists arrived here on Saturday from Cadyville where  they have been blocked by the logs in the Saranac river, after a long trip down the river from Eagle Island near Waubeek [sic] in Upper Saranac Lake. The party was accompanied by three Saranac Lake guides, Fitzhugh Vogan, "Duck" Derby and William Meagher. The party was handicapped by the number of carries and progress was slow.
