Alfred Blalock, M.D. suffered from T. B. as a student at Vanderbilt University. He was apparently a friend of Norman Bethune at Trudeau Sanatorium, as his name was mentioned in the Bethune Murals. His cure was successful, and he went on to develop important medical advances later in his career.
