Married: Mary E. Cochran his niece, a daughter of Grant G. Cochran and his sister Ella Mary Dyer

Children: Earl G. Dyer (1926 - 1945), George Dyer, Oliver Dyer and Mrs. Walter Wingate Jr.

Orville Dyer was a Master Sergeant, 6th Infantry. He served 30 years in the military including the Spanish American War and World War I. He served three tours in the Philippines. Orville was a member of the Gabriels American Legion.
