OSCAR TURNER DIES AT 74

Oscar Turner, a Saranac Lake businessman, died yesterday afternoon at Saranac Lake General Hospital.

Mr. Turner first came here in 1906 and worked for Branch and Callahan until he moved to New York City. In 1933 he returned to Saranac Lake and in 1936 opened the Broadway Liquor Store which he operated until the time of his death. He also was owner of an apartment building on Broadway.

Mr. Turner was born on September 6, 1886 in Schuyler Falls, the son of Wallace and Aurie Everest Turner. He was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors are his wife, the former Irene Branch; a son, Herbert, of Delmar, Cal.; three brothers, Morris, Claude and Russell, all of Schuyler Falls.

Beginning tomorrow at 2 p.m. friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home. Arrangements for services are incomplete pending the arrival of Mr. Turner's son. Memorial donations may be made to the Saranac Lake General Hospital.
