Clara H. Holt, 92, of 61 Bloomingdale Ave., died Thursday, March 25, 1993 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born Dec. 2, 1900, in New Brunswick, N.J., she was the daughter of Clarence T. and Emma (Smith) Holt.

She had been a resident of Saranac Lake for the past 66 years and had been employed in the housekeeping department at Ray Brook State Hospital for many years, retiring in 1963. She also worked as a seamstress. One of Saranac Lake's oldest residents, she was mentioned in the village's Centennial booklet. She was an active bowler for over 70 years and at the time of her death bowled in three leagues: The One O' Clock League, the Toppers League, and the Old As You Feel League. She had bowled as recently as Tuesday, March 23 in her Tuesday bowling league, and every year she participated in the New York State Women Bowlers' Tournament. She was a member of the North Country Women's Progressive Bowling League, and was in the Hall of Fame of that group. She was also a member of the Women's Civic Chamber.

Although there are no survivors she leaves many friends, including Naomi Martin and the MacDowell family of Saranac Lake.

Rev. Harold Clark, pastor of the Saranac Lake Presbyterian Church, officiated at services. She was buried in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
