Front Street

Front Street runs from Shepard Avenue northwest across Helen Street to Prescott Place (formerly called Park Place). Front Street is shown on old maps as continuing to Main Street, but more likely it was always a "paper street" that was never developed because of the steep terrain. Instead a walkway, with steps, was built. The Sanborn map of 1931 shows the section from Main to Park Place, and indicates that it is impassible.
