SARANAC LAKE — Helen M. Bell, 67, of 27 Marshall St., died Monday evening, Aug. 8, 1994, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born March 23, 1927 in Windsor, Ontario, she was the daughter of August K. and Mary (Kelly) St. James. She married Robert J. Bell on Sept. 11, 1948 in Montreal, Canada. He died July 25, 1967.
A resident of Saranac Lake for the past 25 years, she was a member of St. Bernard’s Church. Prior to moving to Saranac Lake she made her home in Rochester for several years.
Survivors include three sons, Michael and Robert of Saranac Lake, and Thomas of Philadelphia, Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Tallman of Bloomingdale and Mrs. Bruce (Patricia) Rankin of Rochester; two brothers, Thomas St. James of Hawksbury, Quebec and Fred St. James of Chateaugay, Quebec; three sisters, Alice St. James and Judy St. James, both of Ottawa, Canada and Barbara Pitre of Montreal, Canada; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are scheduled for today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Bible vigil service is scheduled for tonight at 8. A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. Thursday at St. Bernard’s Church. Interment will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad in care of the funeral home.
