…The Adirondack Arboretum at Sunset Park developed from complaints by Kenneth Bailey that the swampy area was a breeding ground for blackflies and his suggestion that the VIS let neighbors clear the tangled undergrowth. The VIS, which owned the property, asked Phllip G. Wolff, landscape architect, for advice.
