Kushaqua-Mud Pond Road

From Historic Saranac Lake Wiki
Kushaqua Mud Pond Road
Kushaqua Mud Pond Road, red dashed line. Mud Pond is labelled "Mud Lake" here.

The Kushaqua-Mud Pond Road starts at the intersection of the Gabriels-Onchiota Road and the Oregon Plains Road and travels north through Onchiota, passes west and north of Lake Kushaqua, crossing the dam at the north end of the lake, and then parallels the Saranac River passing south of Mud Pond. The bridge over the North Branch of the Saranac is closed, but the road continues north to pass west of Loon Lake where it intersects Franklin County Route 26 (previously NY Route 99), the Port Kent and Hopkinton Turnpike.

The bridge was closed for repairs for eight weeks in 1994.
