Mrs. Media Abare

Mrs. Media Abare, 78, a resident of Saranac Lake for 40 years, died late Friday at her home at 21 Prospect Avenue, Saranac Lake. She was born June 14, 1885 in Altona, a daughter of Samuel and Adelina Ducatte Ebare. She was the widow of David Abare who died in 1946.

Survivors are a son, Earl of Keene; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Ladue of Syracuse, Mrs. Elsie Vosburgh of Saranac Lake and Mrs. Gertrude Baker of Saranac Lake; three brothers, Sam of Syracuse, Rudolph of Altona and Owen of Palm Springs, Calif.; four grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A Rosary service will be held at the Fortune Funeral Home at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Bernard’s Church at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
