Richard H. Davis1 was a [War II veteran].   He was a son of Nelson R. and Margaret (McLaughlin) Davis.

PORT HENRY -- Richard H. Davis, 60, of 108 Broad St., Port Henry, died Monday, Jan. 9, at the Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vt.

He was born in Saranac Lake Oct. 6, 1923, the son of Nelson R. and Margaret (McLaughlin) Davis.

Mr. Davis was a graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and Buffalo State. He was a teacher at Port Henry High School and Moriah Center School from 1952 to 1976.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was also active in the Port Henry Boy Scouts and the Port Henry Youth Commission,

Survivors include his wife, Carol (Osborne) Davis; a daughter, Emily Donohue of Jamestown; three sons. Anthony, serving with the United States Army in South Carolina; and Richard and Nelson, both of Albany; a brother, Nelson R. Davis, Jr., of Saranac Lake; a sister, Jane D. Nelson of Saranac Lake; and two grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held today from 7 to 9 p.m., and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry.

A mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m., at St. Patrick's Church in Port Henry.

Spring burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Saranac Lake.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad.
