Velita Mullin was a daughter of guide Frank Davis and Olive (Demar) Davis.  She operated a hunting and fishing lodge named Shangri La between Loon Lake and Debar Mountain for many years.

MRS. VELITA MULLIN

Funeral services for Mrs. Velita Mullin, 82, of Rouses Point and Loon Lake, who died January 19, 1976 were held Thursday at St. Patrick's Church, Rouses Point.

Msgr. Robert A. Farmer, Pastor was celebrant of the Mass.

Bearers were Graham Wilder, Jr., John Lombard, John Paye, Wallace Squires, Arnold Beal and Paul Murdie.

Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery next spring.

Mrs. Mullin was born in Saranac Lake April 3, 1893, daughter of Frank and Olive (Demar) Mullin [sic]. She operated a hunting and fishing lodge in Loon Lake for many years. She was the widow of Francis J. Mullin. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Marget Mullin of Rouses Point and Mrs. Olive Devereaux of Buffalo.

Mr. & Mrs. Francis J. Mullin Observe Golden Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Francis J. Mullin of 37 South Peru Street, Plattsburgh, will observe their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Sunday, November 15th.

Mrs. Mullin, daughter of Olive Demar and Frank Davis, a well-known Adirondack guide, was born April 3, 1893 in Saranac Lake, N.Y. She was united in marriage to Francis J. Mullin on Nov. 15, 1914. Mr. Mullin, son of Andrew and Mary Carey Mullin, who came to this country from Ireland, was born August 2, 1887 in Chateaugay, New York. He has been employed by the A.H. Marshall Company since October, 1914.

Mr. and Mrs. Mullin have two daughters, Mrs. Maurice (Olive) Devereaux, currently residing in Buffalo and Miss Margaret Mullin of Rouses Point.

Friends and relatives are cordially invited to an open house on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 at their summer residence in Loon Lake, N.Y., Route 99.
