SARANAC LAKE - Wesley W. Moody, 79, of 10 South Edward St., died Saturday evening, April 4, at the General Hospital of Saranac Lake.

He was born Feb. 7, 1908, in Saranac Lake, son of Milo and Zita (Canty) Moody. Mr. Moody grew up in Saranac Lake and was employed until 1968 in the Addison, N.J., and Watervliet arsenals. He was later employed by the Department at the locks on the Saranac River, retiring in 1978.

He was a member of Mt. Sinai Lodge.Free and Accepted Masons, in Metuchen, N.J., and a member of the Lodge and Center. He volunteered at the local races for many years.

Surviving are two sons, Milo "Sonny" Moody of Harrisville, and Wesley "Slugger" Moody of Onchiota; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Sofield of Saranac Lake; a sister and a brother, Mrs. Leta Lincoln and Herbert Moody, both of Saranac Lake; 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will take place from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Fortune Funeral Home. A Masonic service will take place at 7:30.

A funeral service will be said at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Lowenthal, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Cemetery.

Donations in Mr. Moody's memory may be made in care of the funeral home to the Saranac Lake Adult Center.
