Front Street runs from Shepard Avenue northwest across Helen Street to Prescott Place (formerly called Park Place). Front Street is shown on old maps as continuing to Main Street , but more likely it was always a "paper street" that was never developed because of the steep terrain. Instead a walkway, with steps, was built. The Sanborn map of 1931 shows the section from Main to Park Place, and indicates that it is impassible.
