Stone pig was the nickname given to large, ceramic hot water bottles, used by TB patients attempting the fresh air cure, which typically meant sleeping in bitterly cold weather on a cure porch wrapped in layers of blankets. The stone pig was a great comfort in such circumstances. Stone%20Pig.jpg
