Emmett E. Allen

Emmett E. Allen, 69, formerly of 58 1/2 Shepard Ave., Saranac Lake, died Wednesday at Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown where he had lived for the past four years.

Mr. Allen was born in Fort Corvington, a son of Julius and Margaret Jessmer Allen. He came to this area for his health and was a patient at Ray Brook for a while. He was a cab driver for many years.

Survivors are: a brother, Lester, of Massena; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Walsh and Mrs. Grace Baldwin of Saranac Lake.

A Bible Vigil was held Wednesday evening at the Fortune Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A funeral Mass will be offered this evening at 8 o’clock at St. Bernard’s Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in May.
