SARANAC LAKE — Grace A. Baldwin, 93, formerly of Woodruff Street, Saranac Lake, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1993 at the Sacred Heart Nursing Home in Plattsburgh, where she had been a resident for two years.
Born July 22, 1900 in Fort Covington, she was the daughter of Julius and Margaret (Jessmer) Allen. She had been a resident of Saranac Lake for most of her life and had been employed as a housekeeper for several area families for many years before her retirement.
Survivors include a son, Wallace Baldwin of Tampa, Florida; three grandchildren, Christine Daniel of Saranac Lake, Donna Arnold of Peru, and Steven Baldwin of Schenectady; several grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Gladys Piro and Lena Walsh; and two brothers, Lester and Emmett Allen.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Bernard’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Bernard’s Church in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, which was in charge of the arrangements.
