HENRY KINGMAN, GUIDE, DIED SUNDAY

Henry Kingman, 75, famous Adirondack guide, died in Saranac Lake General hospital Sunday afternoon. Funeral services will be held at Saranac Lake this afternoon at two o'clock, interment will be in Bloomingdale.

Mr. Kingman was born at Lewis, on December 20, 1861, where he spent his youth, in 1609 he went to Saranac Lake and married Gertrude Surprise. Several years later they were divorced and Mr. Kingman married Cora Norman of Saranac Lake. She died several years ago.

For many years Mr. Kingman was caretaker of the R. James camp on Upper St. Regis lake, until his retirement five years ago. He had also served as caretaker on other camps on Upper and Lower Saranac lakes. He was familiar with every stream and lake in the Adirondacks since his boy hood and was considered one of the finest trout fishermen in the mountains. He was a friend of many of the old  guides of the mountains and from them learned much of his woodcraft.

Surviving are two sons, Charles Kingman and Leon Kingman, both of Saranac Lake; and two daughters, Mrs. Samuel Womacott of Buffalo, and Mrs. Ernest Paul of California.
